Welcome to Zurich
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee and the International Scientific Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the 22nd International Symposium on Problems of Listeriosis (ISOPOL), which will take place from September 7–10, 2027, at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
This ISOPOL marks a special occasion: 100 years have passed since Listeria monocytogenes was first isolated and described by the British bacteriologist E.G.D. Murray and colleagues in 1926. Commemorating this milestone, the symposium will feature a keynote lecture exploring the history, fascinating biology, and profound impact on public health of this remarkable pathogen. This will be followed by sessions addressing key questions and recent developments in fundamental research, food safety, and related applications.
In addition to invited talks presented in plenary sessions each morning, the scientific program will feature shorter oral presentations in parallel afternoon sessions, as well as poster presentations selected from submitted abstracts. The diverse program is designed to stimulate discussion and foster exchange among researchers approaching Listeria and listeriosis from different disciplines and perspectives.
The 22nd ISOPOL will be held at the ETH Zurich Center campus, in the heart of Zurich and easily accessible by public transport from both Zurich Airport and Zurich’s main railway station.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to Zurich for an inspiring and memorable scientific meeting – and hope you will also take the opportunity to experience the vibrant city of Zurich and the beauty of Switzerland.
